Prize: Tread Trainer Program, plus Goodie Package

The Tread Trainer program is designed to train participants in innovative, practical methods of spreading outdoor ethics to the public with a curriculum specifically focused on motorized and mechanized recreation. Once a participant becomes active in the Tread Trainer program he or she is equipped with the knowledge to recreate responsibly; present the Tread Lightly! message to other educators, clubs, employees, visitors, enthusiasts or community members, or train additional Tread Lightly! instructors. 

As more and more people visit public lands for recreation, the resources can quickly become overused. Lack of government funding to repair dilapidated facilities and perform regular maintenance can lead to closures, which puts an even higher burden on surrounding recreation areas.

In order to combat these problems, Tread Lightly! developed Tread Trainer: a train-the-trainer program that provides the tools and education needed to produce responsible stewards – people who will care for the land they use.

When recreationists understand the consequences of their actions and behaviors, they are more likely to act in responsible ways. The Tread Trainer program provides the education needed to bring different types of recreationists together for the betterment of the common areas they enjoy.

Prize: Ladies Offroad Trail Training hosted by Charlene Bower

Join us for a 5 hour class filled with exciting and motivating offroad training. This is a great opportunity for drivers and co-drivers of every level, beginner to advanced. Bring your gloves and get ready to work on offroad challenges while having fun! The techniques that will be taught include How to Use Your Winch, Rig Recovery Techniques and Tools, What is a Pull-Pal, How to Use a Hi-Lift Jack, How to Plug a Tire and How to Change a Tire. We will talk about scenarios and safety situations that surround these activities, all with a hands-on focus to accomplish these heavy tasks as a lady. Pizza and salad will be served during class compliments of our host. Water and soda will be available in a Black Forest Fridge Freezer. No vehicle is necessary. A vehicle and tools will be provided.

Charlene Bower has worked in the offroad industry for 24 years including working upper retail management at multi-line Powersports dealerships for 11 years and in magazine media for 4 years before founding Bower Motorsports Media in 2009. In just nine short years she has built a media group using trending media and communication platforms supplying the backdrop for some of the most successful racers, events and companies in the 4x4 market. Charlene has been recognized by BFGoodrich Tires as one of their Performance Team Members, and was recently voted by peers as an Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame Industry Rising Star. In 2017, Charlene obtained her training certification from the International 4-Wheel Drive Trainers' Association and in 2018 the Wilderness First Aid Certification. When not behind a desk she is a hard-core Arizona wheeler and dirt bike rider. In 2014, she earned the title of "Fastest Girl Up Backdoor" at the King of the Hammers Backdoor Shootout.  With different contest winners in her co-driver seat in 2015, her team took 2nd in RallyVenture and in 2016, they placed 1st in the Rebelle Rally and 2nd in the Pro Class at 36 Hours of Uwharrie. Charlene champions for women in offroad. In 2016, Charlene hosted the 1st annual Ladies Co-Driver Challenge. The wildly successful challenge had entries from 91 women wheelers across the Country, vying to have an opportunity to go on the road with Charlene to some of the top events in North America utilizing the BFGoodrich Tires Jeep which stemmed the creation of Ladies Offroad Network.
