Ladies Wild Wheeling Weekend

The Ladies Wild Wheeling Weekend was held in Arizona September 7-10, 2017 where ladies brought their own vehicles (or left them at home) to drive the trails with Charlene. This event invited ten women who were "kicked out" of the 2017 Ladies Offroad Challenge. During this 4-day experience, ladies had the opportunity to learn and master driving, recovery, and vehicle techniques along with handling some unexpected challenges along the way.

Arrival: Wednesday, September 6, 2017

2017-LOC-Wild-Wheeling-Weekend"We kicked off the first day of the Ladies Offroad Challenge Wild Wheeling Weekend in Arizona. A hot 100+ degrees today the ladies rolled in with their rigs one by one, successfully! A group started off with the Rebelle Rally online training. I brought all my tools and some original Rebelle Rally maps so the girls could get some practice in. We had our opening meeting and an awesome dinner by Mom out by the pool where we watched an amazing red full moon raise in the distance. Yes, my picture doesn't do it justice! We ended up being so busy that we didn't even get a good group picture. Don't worry, we'll make up for that over the next few days!" - Charlene

Day 1: Thursday, September 7, 2017

2017-LOC-Wild-Wheeling-Weekend-Day-1Ladies Offroad Network Wild Wheeling Weekend Day 1 was wild all right! Three radiator challenges brought the group to a halt before we got too far up the trail...but far enough to engage in some great recovery opportunities. Everything is a learning process, and the Ladies took it head on.

At the end of the day, instead of a hardcore trail we ended up rolling through downtown Scottsdale in our rides! Loved rolling up to Corvettes and Range Rovers in Tonya's Toyota! Yes, we got THE looks. We got things reorganized and are ready to hit the trail again tomorrow."

Day 2: Friday, September 8, 2017

2017-LOC-Wild-Wheeling-Weekend-Day-2Ladies Offroad Challenge Wild Wheeling Weekend Day 2 was another great day in the AZ desert with special guest Andrew McLaughlin. A fun day out on the trail brought us another set of challenges - a stuck front brake caliper. Through different trials, and having all the right tools on hand, the vehicle was back to operating conditions and finished the trail with no issues.

2017-LOC-Wild-Wheeling-Weekend-Day-2-1In addition to being on the trail for 6 hours working on spotting and lines, we had a morning of classroom training for Hi-Lift Jacks and AccessoriesPull-Pal and BFGoodrich Tires. Then, after we were done with the trail we headed to LetzRoll Offroad Racing where 30Pack Matt gave the girls an opportunity to weld with ESAB welders and Andrew showed them around the shop and the Ultra4 Racing 4493 car.

Our day ended back at the house where we did more classroom recovery with straps, pullies and cable. Then an AZ monsoon came in and we quickly headed inside for another amazing MOM dinner.

Day 3: Saturday, September 9, 2017

2017-LOC-Wild-Wheeling-Weekend-Day-3Ladies Offroad Challenge Wild Wheeling Weekend Day 3 was perfect. A long day of wheeling with a ton of education built in and then a fun dinner and late Night to end the day. Special thanks to Gabriel Arnn for joining us with the Craigslisticon! WARN winch education was awesome, and we made a fun video to watch this week.

Day 4: Sunday, September 10, 2017

"Load up and roll home. I am honored to have had these ladies come to AZ to hang out with my mom, friends and myself this weekend for this great experience. They all did amazing and pushed themselves in different directions.

The youngest lady was 39, the oldest almost 60. Don't ever question of you should enter the Ladies Offroad Challenge, you should! You never know what might happen!" - Charlene
