About Payton
Payton Dumford, known as Dirt Princess, is one of the youngest and most exciting female competitors in Ultra4 racing. She began racing at just five years old, starting in go-karts and slowly working her way up through youth racing, side-by-sides, and into full Ultra4 competition. Today, she races a Polaris Turbo S in the 4900 UTV class and is already stacking podium finishes across the country. In 2024, Payton became a King of the Hammers finisher at only fourteen years old and went on to claim her first Ultra4 victory at Crandon, a track she had never even finished before that race.
Payton works on her own race car alongside her dad, learning bolt checks, maintenance, prep strategy, and mechanical troubleshooting because from day one she was taught that if you race it, you fix it. She is currently preparing to begin welding classes so she can eventually build cages and chassis herself. Payton is driven by a passion to inspire other young girls to get behind the wheel and into the garage, proving that motorsports isn’t just for the boys. Calm under pressure, confident in the rocks, and now-famous for her “wing it” driving style, Payton represents the next generation of fearless female racers.
What We Think
"Talking with Payton reminded me why this opportunity for ladies to tell their stories matters so much. Watching her confidence, work ethic, and love for the sport at such a young age is inspiring, not just for young girls, but for every parent who’s trying to raise strong, fearless offroad capable kids. I loved how grounded she is, how hands-on she is with her own race car, and how clearly she understands what it takes to chase big dreams. This conversation left me feeling hopeful, fired up, and reminded that the next generation of offroad leaders is already here and making an impact.” ~ Charlene
