About Maile

maile hale ladies offroad networkMaile Hale is an 18-year-old off-road racer, competitive martial artist, and emerging fabricator whose journey into racing began with grit, discipline, and a fearless willingness to learn by doing. Raised riding dirt bikes and competing in martial arts, Maile built her competitive mindset long before she ever lined up at King of the Hammers. After a wrist injury ended her professional martial arts competition path, she redirected that drive into off-road racing, quickly finding her place in the sport.

In 2025, Maile became the first-ever Jessi Combs Foundation sponsored rookie racer, earning her spot in the King of the Hammers Rookie Program and logging over 100 hours of pre-running across the rock course and desert loop. She races a Yamaha RMAX 1000 alongside her father as co-driver, with her family playing a central role in every aspect of her racing program. Beyond the racecourse, Maile is pursuing TIG welding certifications while studying marine biology and oceanography, with plans to transfer to UC San Diego.

A second-degree black belt in Taekwondo and a black belt in MMA, Maile credits martial arts with shaping her discipline, resilience, and competitive edge behind the wheel. Whether welding her own cage, rebuilding components, or pushing herself through intimidating terrain, she believes growth comes from starting before you feel ready. With eyes set on expanding into desert and short-course racing and a long-term dream of winning King of the Hammers ~ Maile represents the next generation of ladies building their own path in off-road motorsports.

What We Think

"What stood out to me most about Maile is her fearlessness—not because she isn’t scared, but because she moves forward anyway. Her discipline from martial arts, her willingness to learn by breaking things, and her confidence to say “I want to win” at 18 years old is powerful. Maile is proof that you don’t have to wait until you’re ready or qualified to start—you become ready by doing. This conversation reminded me why creating space for young women in off-road matters so much.” - Charlene
