"I wanted to get outdoors and get out of my comfort zone! I had never camped or gone out into the wild outdoors much until about two years ago, and as they say in poker, I went “All In”. I started prospecting, “looking for gold.” I bought a tent and went camping for the first time last year. I went to Alaska to look for gold last summer for two weeks. I initially bought a little Suzuki 4x4 to get me to gold claims. This year it was just too small to carry all my prospecting equipment, so I bought a 2017 Toyota Tacoma 4x4. These two hobbies of mine, prospecting and off-roading, overlap. You need good off-road driving knowledge and skills to go out to some of the remote places to look for gold. I am so excited to get to network with other ladies as both of these hobbies are male-dominated. I am looking forward to increasing my skills and knowledge."
