"Estha Sissy Allen, Gore, OK – Estha is a 10-year construction worker and an artist which has allowed her the opportunity to travel all over the US. She has owned a jeep for almost 2 years and her husband has a jeep as well. Spending 2 years in Oklahoma, she belonged to several jeep clubs and has attended at least 50 trail rides as either driver and/or co-driver. They had a recent Moab experience that allowed her to paint visions of where she got to explore in the Utah area. Her most memorable moment was in Bridgeport, TX. doing the 6 black diamond trails. It was a moment where she was able to be super happy with herself as a Jeeper!"

Tell us about yourself
:

Estha Allen Ladies Offroad (5)My name is Estha Allen I am a 10-year construction worker and an artist. With my job, I get to travel all over the United States.

How long have you been offroading?

Two years

How did you get into offroading?

My Husband got me involved in offroading. We have a 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 Monster Power we purchased in 2008, to pull our 35’ camper with. We love to find the roads less traveled through wildlife areas, looking for animals, birds, rocks, sunrise, sunsets.

Two and a half years ago my husband bought a 2 door 1995 YJ named Buckin’ Blackie. He talked me into getting a jeep so we didn’t have to wheel alone. In the old days, this was called “Sunday drives, with your family”, having the ability to get in, go, see new things, look for dirt roads, not have a specific destination planned and be home by dark.

Tell us about your vehicle:

Estha Allen Ladies Offroad (5)I have a 2016 Hydro Blue Pearl Hardrock Edition Jeep, her name is Stevie. I named her after: Stevie Nicks, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Stevie Wonder, I love the blues and my jeep is blue. My favorite part of my jeep is my speakers, Focal, Stevie has quite the set of vocal cords. I have modded out my jeep, too many accessories to list, but I love stickers. My stickers represent the pieces, parts and customizations used to build my jeep, the groups I represent, and the places I have been.

What has been your favorite offroad experience?

Estha Allen Ladies Offroad (5)19 days spent in Moab, Utah. The more I wheeled, without a co-driver (my husband), the more confidence I had in each trail. Each day it was like baby steps, on a larger scale. We wheeled, Yellow Cat Trail (2 times), Onion Creek Trail (2 times), Fisher Towers Trail (with the 3 mile hike), Thompson Canyon Trail, Polar Mesa Trail, Gemini Bridges Trails, Hurrah Pass Trail, La Sal Pass Trail, Dome Plateau Trail, Long Canyon Trail, Fins & Things Trail (3 times), Top of The World Trail, Hells Revenge Trail (co-driver on Hell’s Gate), Steel Bender Trail, Poison Spider Trail and Metal Masher Trail. I earned 6 trail badges in Moab.

What was your most exciting offroad achievement?

Estha Allen Ladies Offroad (5)Bridgeport, Texas ORV Park. I wheeled 6 black diamond trails with massive boulders. You had to have a spotter. This was the first time ever having to trust in my spotter and take directions. I had several different people on different trails. After following Ladies Offroad Network last year, I realized what the ladies felt like spotting & trusting their spotter. I will say I did not have a clear meaning of co-driving, and spotting, until this day. This was my most exciting offroad achievement. I want to thank Ladies Offroad Network, I got “IT”, I totally got it from watching and following the ladies last year. I felt what they were trying to tell us, through their personal experience. I am not pointing at 1 lady, I watched all 10 last year. I found “IT”, even though I wasn’t there.

What excites you about offroading?

What excites me is getting to go places and see things that others will never have the opportunity in their life. It excites me to share my story with others, of what I see, where I go, and getting them to feel like they were there with me. Even if it's weeks later, sharing what I got to do, as if it was yesterday. Offroading is so exciting!

What do you think is the most challenging aspect of offroading?

Estha Allen Ladies Offroad (5)Learning when to use your lockers, 2WD, 4Low, and your winch. Learning YOUR jeep, and having an open mind to learn from others. As time goes on, the possibility of getting the opportunity to use the knowledge you know about your rig, and apply it to other offroad vehicles.

Which aspect of offroading do you think is the most fun?

The ability to be able to go on trails and make decisions, picking your lines, and the path you choose. Having confidence in yourself to be a leader. When you have the chance to lead, taking ownership and control of your destination, really challenges your mind. Offroading puts you in your happy place, and you thrive for that next adventure.

What does prepping for an adventure look like in your world?

I am comfortable prepping and preparing for different situations. My biggest downfall is forgetting to bring my lawn chairs, just when ya’ think its all planned out.

Take lots of notes, ask others who may have experience from that adventure, and don’t forget to put lawn chairs at the top of the list.

What is on your offroading bucket list?

Estha Allen Ladies Offroad (5)I want to go back to Colorado and explore Moab, Utah a little more and do some of the harder trails. I had faith in myself the first time, but I was wheeling in my daily driver. My husband insisted that I needed more experience. I didn’t want to go do extreme trails.

I just got to a point in my life where I wanted “MORE” of a challenge. Moab is just a jeep dream, a dream that you don’t want to end, a dream where you can’t wait until you get to see that next sunset. Without a question, we will go back to Moab to see the beauty of it all, and explore new grounds.

Tell us about who you go offroading with:

Estha Allen Ladies Offroad (5)I currently offroad with my husband. We use walkie talkies for communication. In the past, we have wheeled with groups up to 10-12 other jeeps, which is a comfortable number. I have also wheeled in Louisiana with Fort Polk Jeepers, Georgia with Boobie Bouncer Jeep Club, Georgia/Alabama A.J.C.P. (American Jeep Club Project) Members, RejecteD Jeepers Club in Oklahoma, Big Red ORV Members, Oklahoma Offroad Chicks Group, Goonies 4x4 Jeep Club, and several others out of Oklahoma.

What is a piece of advice you have been given that you instill in your offroading adventures?

Estha Allen Ladies Offroad (5)I learned from a fellow woman jeeper where my line of sight was on my front tires. This has assisted me in every situation, since being shown. It's a lot easier to wheel knowing how to line up. I’d like to add, when you are short, it’s a bit more challenging. I do have peddle extensions installed.

Do you have anything else you would like to add?

I would like to thank Charlene Bower of Ladies Offroad Network for lots of things. Mainly for giving ladies an opened door of acceptance in the 4x4 world of endless opportunities that are out there, not specified to one trait, but a variety of views, once you look out that window.
