"In 2014, Brittany got her first Jeep, compliments of her husband and she fell in love and joined a local Jeep group going to the mountains every chance she gets. Brittany has been part of multiple off-road events and helps plan, execute and advertise the events - including a recent offroad expo where all the proceeds went to Pregnancy and Infant Loss, a topic close to her heart. She was a finance manager, but now puts her family, Jeep, and Jeep family first!"

Brittany-Martin-LOC-FeatTell us about yourself:

I was a finance manager for 7 years. In 2014 I lost one of my sons, he was stillborn. In hopes of helping me cope, my husband bought me a Jeep. I fell in love and joined a local Jeep group. In 2015, I quit my job to focus on my pregnancy and my two older children. Now, I am Admin to Red Dirt Jeeps and a full time mommy. My family, Jeep, and Jeep family are my life.

How long have you been offroading?

I bought my first ATV when I was 12. We sold a few TY beanie babies to purchase it. It was the first large purchase I made with my own money. We lived on Wild Horse Mesa just over the border of Colorado, miles from town. We hauled our own water from a well and generated our own electricity with solar panels. I didn’t have TV or a mall where I could hang out. I four-wheeled all day everyday, and I loved it. Off-roading stayed a common theme through my adult life, and when I bought a Jeep in 2015 I fell further in love.

Brittany-Martin-LOC-FeatHow did you get into offroading?

I honestly got into it because of a lack of anything better to do. Once I started, I loved it. I love being outside and being in or on a 4x4 . It just makes you feel free and strong. Now, ! am a part of the Red Dirt Jeeps, the largest Jeep group in Oklahoma. I love helping other women in the group know that they can do it. Girls can off-road too, and we excel at it.

Tell us about your vehicle:

Penelope is a 2015 Jeep Wrangler JKU. She comes complete with a rear Dana 44 trussed and locked, a front super 30 sleeved and gusset, 4:88 Yukon gears, Rockcrawler control arms, 4.5 Rubicon express coils, Bilstien shocks custom 31in dual reservoir, 32 degree Yukon driveshaft, Smittybilt XRC body armor, ProComp 15in steel wheels and 35 x 12.5 mud claw tires.”

Brittany-Martin-LOC-FeatWhat has been your favorite offroad experience?

The first time I wheeled my Jeep in Colorado was my favorite. I really had no idea where I was going or what I was doing. I wanted to go everywhere and try everything. There were no restrictions in my mind, just me, my family, and the great outdoors. I learned a lot, most importantly that I love to off-road.

What was your most exciting offroad achievement?

There was a canyon out at a wheeling event at Buzzard Canyon. When I drove up there was close to 15 Jeeps sitting at the top surveying the area. One of the men standing up top called me a chicken. I knew I could do it, so I went for it and I nailed it. I was 1 of 2 people that actually drove that canyon. GIRL POWER!

Brittany-Martin-LOC-FeatWhat excites you about offroading?

The feeling, being outside, my Jeep, all of it! I like tackling trails and accomplishing goals, and I like to help others accomplish their goals as well!

What do you think is the most challenging aspect of offroading?

Sometimes I doubt myself . I’ve started to learn how to work through it, and it’s rewarding to come out the other side. I CAN do it and I WILL do it.

Which aspect of offroading do you think is the most fun?

All of the feelings; the determinations, the feeling of achievement, the friendships I have made, and the excitement of seeing others succeed.

Brittany-Martin-LOC-FeatWhat does prepping for an adventure look like in your world?

Checking the weather and packing for the elements. I always carry a toolbox with commonly used tools, survival gear, snacks, and boots are also a must!

What is on your offrroading bucket list?

MOAB!!!! I will mark Moab off the list this year. I want to go to SEMA as well, it looks amazing. Also, to drive the Baja 1000 track, it captivates me.

Tell us about who you go offroading with:

Always my husband, he has his own Jeep. We also have at least 30 friends we get out and wheel with, along with our Jeep group of 3700! We attend all of their off-roading trips. My entire family enjoys the group runs.

Brittany-Martin-LOC-FeatWhat is a piece of advice you have been given that you instill in your offroading adventures?

Push yourself but stay comfortable and confident. Do what you are comfortable with, you don’t have to impress anyone.

Do you have anything else you would like to add?

I’m so appreciative of my Red Dirt Jeeps family. They support me, uplift me and encourage me daily. Also my husband, who believes in me always and lets me chase my dreams.
