Story Of Summer

Summer-Couture-Ladies-Offroad-Challenge1You never really think about what you're thankful for or look into what your life is all about until you're asked. Sitting here thinking about why I got into off-roading and where it has lead me has got me really thinking. Off-roading has become a part of me and who I am and who my son will be as well. I got started off-roading when I was younger, about the age of 12. I started off into quads and being back behind the lake. I grew up in Arizona where there were rocks and not much mud. Sometimes it got very sketchy on a 4wheeler.

Summer-Couture-Ladies-Offroad-Challenge1I met my husband in 2006 or so at the Goldfield Ghost Town in Apache Junction. We have since been together for about 10 years with a few hard times. But who does not have those times. He was another person who really got me more into trucks. He had a few of his own that we would take out every once in awhile. My husband and my brothers, we would all go out and have the best days and nights.

Summer-Couture-Ladies-Offroad-Challenge1We will skip forward many years to where my husband is now in the military and we go from AZ to San Diego to Texas and now we are in New Orleans. Being in Texas was the start of our Jeep addiction. I got to drive my friend's Wrangler and that was it. I had to have one of my own. Low and behold, a few years later I got my 2 door and we started to mod her. We found out not 2 months later that we were indeed pregnant with our rainbow baby. This changed a lot of things for us. These changes were good I promise you. The small Jeep was just not going to cut it. We made it through a few years before we decided we needed something bigger which is why I now have our 4 door and the husband is building his own from the 2 door. Life can change that quickly. But I wouldn’t change it for the world.

Summer-Couture-Ladies-Offroad-Challenge1Today my son is 3 and he is one of the reasons I stay motivated. The second reason I have chosen to take my dream and make it reality is the passing of my brother back in February of 2018. This passing was something that I did not think I would be able to get through. I went through a major breakdown and depression and was not in a good place in my life. It took a lot to stay afloat. My brother was my best friend and the one who always was with me through the good and the bad. The one who would do all the crazy stuff with me on the trails. Not only was he there for the wheeling but he was always there for me when I needed a friend or etc. It was the hardest thing I had to deal with. So I have 2 angels with me, one being my son who is alive and with me everyday and one in heaven.

Summer-Couture-Ladies-Offroad-Challenge1I live each and everyday of my life traveling between Jeep events and wheeling to keep my mind busy and to do what I want in life because you never know when your last day will be. I have had some amazing Jeep ladies and gentleman with me through my journey and some amazing companies that have also taken a leap of faith in me and that is something I will always cherish and take with me. Jeep people would give the shirt off their backs for you and that is something that I never thought to have by just buying a vehicle. It is not a vehicle, it is a way of life. You gain a family and some amazing friends. People from all over the world and different walks of life are there for you. Even if you have never met them, they are there. Jeep has now become my life.

Summer-Couture-Ladies-Offroad-Challenge1My family is with me through every second of everyday and I believe that they believe in me. They constantly tell me I am crazy for the things we do but they are happy to see that I have taken on something that keeps me busy and that keeps me from sitting at home depressed. I actually believe my mother now wants a Jeep of her own! It can be addicting owning a Jeep. The feeling of peace I get from being behind the wheel, on a trail or even on the road is something that I can’t even begin to explain.

But if there is one thing that I would give as advice to anyone, ladies do not give up on your dreams. You may not be where you want to be right now but you can get there. You may go through things that make you want to quit or just stop trying. Do not ever give up because you think you can not do something or you think life can’t go on. No matter what happens you will get through it. If you want something, reach out for it and grab it. We all start somewhere and we all will get where we wanna go. But we only get there if we try. I am set out to travel and become the better version of myself. I have an amazing support system behind me and I can not wait to see where my journey takes me.
