Back in May, Charlene asked Ladies Offroad Network members if we would be willing to host a Ladies Offroad Network'ing event in our local area where ladies who have a passion for all types of off-roading could meet and talk. I loved the idea and offered to host the first event in TX. We held our event at Back Forty Smokehouse in North Richland Hills on June 21. They have a great patio where we could easily mingle, and their food is yummy. Charlene has such a big presence in the off-road industry, I decided we needed a way for attendees to have their picture taken with her, so I had a Flat Charlene made as a surprise.
We wanted our first event to be relaxed and more of an opportunity to get to know each other and discuss our favorite ways to spend our time off the pavement. Everyone got their picture taken with Flat Charlene as they arrived, joined the conversation chatting about things like where they have wheeled and for how long.
Some of the ladies are new to off-roading. We discussed arranging a group meeting for an afternoon out at the local off-road park in Bridgeport. We also talked about the upcoming Ladies Offroad Network Convention in Salt Lake City, UT.
My favorite part of the evening was being able to bring these women together, who had all been looking for a group of local ladies to learn from and support. It's a fantastic thing when you meet other women who are supportive of each other and are eager to learn new things about something they have a shared passion for.
That is exactly why Charlene created Ladies Offroad Network. I will always be a Ladies Offroad Network Member as long as they exist!
