How many times have you raced King of the Hammers?  This will be my third time racing the 4500 class.  We have had our challenges, completing 76 miles in 2015 and 23 miles in 2016.

How did you get into Ultra4 Racing? I competed in the Legends Class with my step dad's 4800 car in 2014 because he had to work, and I've been hooked ever since.

What is your offroading background?  I started competing in Rock Crawling competitions when I was 13. When I was 15, I got the opportunity to compete at the 2014 Ultra4 Stampede, then in November of 2014 we bought a Formula Toyota and got it ready to compete at the 2015 King of the Hammers.

Makinzie Alavazo Townsend King of the HammersWhat has been your most exciting achievement in Ultra4 racing?  This year at KOH I'm really looking to set out to finish the race, it's a extremely long and difficult race so I'm hoping to go out there and be able to complete it in the time were given.

What does race prep look like in your world?  Race prep for us consists of two different cars, mine and my step dads 4800 car. Every year we always decide to modify the car more and more. Last year was bigger axles, bigger motor, bigger everything. This year we decide to modify the car to be more competitive with other cars in my class so we modified the frame and steering set up and put a new motor in it. I just had a beautiful baby the middle of December (7 weeks before Hammers) so we haven't had much time to do anything other get the cars ready to race.

What are you looking forward to at this year's King of the Hammers?  I'm honestly just looking forward to being back in the desert. We live in Northern California about 10 hours from KOH so it's always an exciting time when we pack up and head south.

What are your goals for this years King of the Hammers? Finish. My main goal is to finish, for myself, for my team, and for my sponsors. Third times a charm.

What excites you about racing? Just being able to compete in these huge events is exciting. I was a 15 year old female that had the opportunity to compete in Ultra4, now I'm 19 and even though Ultra4 has grown alot I still have these opportunities - it's truly amazing.

Makinzie Alavazo Townsend King of the HammersTell us about the Team that Supports you.  Calrocs Racing has always been my team even when I was just getting into Rock Crawling at 13 years old.  They have always supported me and been with me throughout my entire racing career.
