"Dawn lives by the motto 'Live Life to the Fullest,' participating in all types of activities including: offroading in her buggy, motocross dirt biking, BMX racing, sprint car racing, jet skiing, boat racing and hot air ballooning. She has multiple championships in the different disciplines where she has learned confidence, drive, presence, persistence and the benefits of the process, but most of all making new friends. She has recently created a Group Sports Program for women."

Tell us about yourself.
I am a go getter. My motto is ‘live life to the fullest’! I enjoy riding my dirt bike, going hot air ballooning. I just got back into BMX racing after 26 years of Motocross. I recently started a group sports program targeted at women and girls to get them involved in the sports I love.

 

DawnChapton-LLC-FeatHow long have you been offroading?
9 years of Moto, 9 years of Buggy, 4 years of sprint car, 30 years of off-roading. BMX from the ages of 8 to 17, I just got back into it.

 

How did you get into offroading?
I started with BMX because of my Dad. I got into MotoX because of a boyfriend, same thing with off-roading. I got into Sprint Cars after meeting someone that raced.

 

Tell us about your vehicle:
I drive a Ford 2011 F250 Super Duty Turbo Diesel 4x4 with a leveling kit and 20-inch fuel rims and 37-inch tires.

 

What has been your favorite offroad experience?
Elsinore Grand Prix and the Havasu WORCS Race.

 

What was your most exciting offroad achievement?
Winning the BMX World Cup in 1989, the Fire and Police Nationals in 2015 and 1st place at Glen Helen in CA.

The thrill of the adventure into the unknown.

 

What do you think is the most challenging aspect of offroading?
You never know what to expect next.

 

Which aspect of offroading do you think is the most fun?
I love it all. I love to get dirty!

Checking every nut and bolt. Making sure that all the gear is working.

 

What is on your offroading bucket list?
Racing the Vegas to Reno MotoX, and I would also like to race side-by-sides.

My dog 4 Stroke.

 

What is a piece of advice you have been given that you instill in your offroading adventures?
Never give up, push your limits, and have fun doing it.
