Chili Cheese Fries

For outdoor and off-road lovers, most trips don’t include this delicious energy boost because of the preparation and mess. Fear not Chili Cheese Fry lovers, we here at the Ladies Offroad Network have found a way for you to bring your favorite comfort food with you on the trail!

These delicious fries can be made without hassle by using tin foil! The tin foil packet will also serve as a serving container for your savory snack, cutting back on the mess of eating and creating an easy clean up (something all of us off-roaders look for...remember you need to pack out whatever you packed in!).

Here’s what you’ll need to make this delicious campfire treat:
Foil
Cooking Spray
Frozen, ready to cook Fries
Canned Chili
Shredded Cheese
Additional Toppings (sour cream, onions, chives, et.)

Charlene Tip: A great thing about this Chili Cheese Fries recipe is that you can easily make it healthy by swapping out ingredients! Substitute potato fries for sweet potato fries, veggie or turkey chili for regular canned chili, low fat cheese, etc.

First, start by preparing your tin foil. Spray the cooking oil on the sheet of foil. Then, spread your frozen fries in the middle of the foil and wrap the foil ends together. Place the foil packet over the campfire for 7-10 minutes. Remove the packet from the fires, carefully open and add canned chili and shredded cheese. Re-seal the foil packet and place back on the fire for 5-7 minutes. Remove the packet from the fire and let cool for 1-3 minutes. Open, and enjoy!
