The day started out awesome – warm weather, beautiful sunshine, everything. We got in line and waited for our turn. It is so awesome being in line with all of the amazing cars and drivers! We had our course planned out, and as we started everything felt phenomenal. Hunter was calm and cool, and listening to all of my cues. As we got to the rock section we noticed the car wasn’t climbing as good as normal. But we still made it up in good time. Right as we got to the top my hans device got caught in my communication lines. I lost all of my connections and couldn’t hear or talk to Hunter. I tried to get my plugs back but I couldn’t find them. So instead I switched to hand signals.
King of the Motos is my kind of race. It’s the type of riding I excited about: Big rocks, boogers that knock you, work you, lines that need finding, steep tight switchbacks, physical limits being pushed beyond what you’d ever dream of, endurance and mental strength constantly tested, exhaustion coupled with exhilaration as cold recovery beers make it to your lips and head afterward!
First off…WE FINISHED!! This has been a long time goal for Brian and as of about a year ago, myself too. We got home from the Fallon 250 with a spot…
