June 2018 Giveback

Achieve Tahoe Rubicon Trail Experience got introduced to our group last year when Jaime and Charlene went on the trip as one of the Ladies Offroad Challenge events. An event that is close to Charlene's heart not only for the guests, but also because without offroad vehicles and open access guests would never be able to see the beauty of the Rubicon Springs and enjoy Buck Island Lake.  The guests are mentally or physically handicapped mostly from the California and Nevada area, but anyone is welcome.  Some guests have been coming for multiple years which is the one thing they have to look forward to all year long.  Others, this is their first and only time they will be able to see these amazing sights. Jason and Andrea Burger have been hosting this trip for 15 years with the help of the Webilt 4x4 Club and friends.  The trip is covered by participant entry fees and personal club budgets to make it happen.  Let's support their efforts to make sure this great event continues.

On Sunday of the Ladies Offroad Convention the guests are welcome to participate in a GiveBack project which is important to Charlene and our core values. For the second year, we will be working with a local Women's Homeless Shelter to give ladies one-on-one time learning about their vehicle and maintenance.  Many of these ladies never had a male figure to learn from, and also may have previous challenges that keep them from trusting males as they need to get their vehicles worked on.  If their children are present, they are given the opportunity to get rides in the Jeeps around the parking lot.  As part of this experience we put backpacks together with vehicle safety and maintenance items.  The donations will go towards building these backpacks.

We raised just over $500 at the breakfast on Sunday Morning last year.  The opportunity to donate, even if not attending the Convention, should allow us to be even more successful!

Do you know an offroad lady that is struggling?  Needs a boost. Needs an opportunity to build their offroading community experience? We understand Challenges! Sometimes it’s a challenge to watch a friend want, and deserve, to do something, but financially it is a struggle. This is an opportunity to Nominate a friend that you feel should come to the 2018 Ladies Offroad Convention via the Ladies Offroad Network Angel Fund. The Angel Fund must achieve a minimum of the $500 entry fee for this to be successful. 

The Angel Fund was started to give people an opportunity to support Ladies Offroad Network and the different objectives that are set forward. This includes helping the general fund. It will help us continue to create events across the country to impact Ladies, all that have high expenses. It will help us get more print materials to spread the word, it will help with our marketing research, it will help us with shipping expenses. We appreciate you helping make Ladies Offroad Network as successful as possible!

To nominate a Lady for the Convention Scholarship, please download the form below. The scholarship will be $500 for the nominee’s registration fee to attend the 2018 Ladies Offroad Convention in Salt Lake City. The nominee will still be responsible for travel and hotel expenses. If not able to commit to attending within 3 days, we will draw another nominee.

Fill out this form in completion, scan and email to Winning@BowerMedia.com by Tuesday June 26^th. You cannot nominate yourself. You do not have to be an active member to participate as a nominee or nominator. We don’t want to pick and choose someone’s challenge over another. So, all the completed nominations will go into a random selection. The random draw will be done LIVE@5 on Thursday June 28^th. To have a Nominee chosen, there must be a minimum of $500 donated to the Angel Fund during the June 2018 GiveBack month. Ladies Offroad Network has the right to cancel this program if that minimum has not been reached.
