2017 Ladies Offroad Challenge Training Weekend – UTV Inc. Shop Tour

Have you been searching for an all-inclusive shop for UTV parts? During our day of shop tours, the Ladies Offroad Challenge Top 10 Finalists found just that shop. We had the opportunity to tour UTV Inc. in Mesa, AZ. The tour started off in UTV Inc.’s one-of-a-kind showroom full of custom-made UTV parts and BFGoodrich tires. At UTV Inc., they strive to show at least one of every part they offer on their showroom floor. We had the pleasure of meeting UTV Inc.’s owner, Johnny, and his right and left hand man, Nick. The company was started in his backyard. Johnny began by selling parts for other companies and building his own UTVs. After seeing the performance of his builds, word spread and soon, he was in demand. UTV Inc. was born.

As we continued our tour of the warehouse, I was amazed by the fact that they fabricate, build, and sell most of their own parts in-house. Their warehouse is complete with every machine you need to build, cut, powder coat, and package parts. They keep hundreds of parts in stock, ready to ship the same day.

While walking further into the warehouse, it was very evident why UTV Inc. is one of the best in the business. There were people working and machines in use everywhere. Our first lesson was about the 5x10 water jet cutter. We learned how the water jet uses an impressive 50,000 psi of water and crushed garnet to cut through almost anything. We also witnessed a laser cutter in use and saw the differences between the way the water jet and the laser cutter work. The difference in speed and maintenance of each can make or break a project. The warehouse also had a CNC machine shop, a powder coating prep room, and an oven. UTV Inc.’s Accurpress press brake is put to use every day to bend materials and create custom parts.

The end of our tour led us to Johnny’s impressive Trophy Truck, which came complete with BFGoodrich Tires. Johnny candidly told us about all his racing victories and told us what to expect at this year’s 50th Anniversary of the SCORE Baja 1000.

If you’re in the Mesa area, and even if you’re not - they ship world-wide – UTV Inc. is the place to go for all your UTV needs.
